Pop-Kultur is a space for everyone!
We promote and hope that many different cultural identities meet at Pop-Kultur and that no one is excluded from our offerings.
By employing a diverse awareness team of experts in their respective fields and an accessible infrastructure, we strive to create a receptive and safe environment for all visitors.

We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind or its relativisation.
We are of the view what constitutes a boundary violation is defined by the person whose boundary has been violated.
With this in mind, Pop-Kultur is committed to representing the interests of all guests.

Awareness-Team

A trained awareness team will be on duty at the festival to ensure that all visitors feel comfortable. The awareness team can be found at the meeting point or elsewhere, recognisable by their white waistcoats.
If you have any questions or specific concerns, you can contact them in advance or on site by phone: +49 1573 879 5555 (also via WhatsApp).

In case of an emergency or if you need support in case of a conflict, you can also contact any festival staff members so that they can immediately call the awareness team.

Informationen in  Leichter Sprache

Pop-Kultur is an international festival.
International means:
There are artists from many different countries.
In 2023, the Pop-Kultur festival is happening for the 9th time.
It takes place at the Kultur-Brauerei in Berlin.
The company Musicboard Berlin makes the festival.
This year, it takes place from the 30th of August to the 1st of September.
Pop-Kultur is a space for everyone!

We hope that different kinds of people meet at Pop-Kultur.
Nobody should be left out.
Everyone should feel comfortable at Pop-Kultur.
There should be as few obstacles as possible.

We want to be accessible.
For example:

  • It’s easy to reach the site in a wheelchair.
  • Interviews are translated into sign language.
  • People with get support.
  • There is information in simple language.

There is an inclusive service team.

If they wish, visitors with disabilities may bring a carer free of charge. If you do not have a disabled person’s pass despite your disability, you can contact us in advance so that we can issue a confirmation for your companion.

Holders of the “berlinpass” receive a 50% discount. They may also bring a carer free of charge as stated above.

barrierefreie  Anreise

Access to the Kulturbrauerei is barrier-free via the BVG public transport:

  • The underground stop “U Eberswalder Str./Pappelallee” has a lift
  • All tram lines to the “Tram Eberswalder Str.” stop are barrier-free

Behindertenparkplatz

At the Kulturbrauerei is a multi-storey car park with wheelchair-accessible parking spaces and a lift.

rollstuhlgerechte Umgebung

All our venues are easily accessible for wheelchair users.

In addition, a barrier-free floor system has been installed to allow for better mobility on the cobblestone.

On the festival grounds are 7 barrier-free lavatories:

Genderneutrale  WCs

On the festival grounds are several all-gender toilets as well as FLINTA*-exclusive lavatories.

Angebote für Blinde

For our blind visitors, our awareness team offers a pick-up service from the nearest stops, U-Bahn station Eberswalder Str. or Tram stop Eberswalder Str.
This service can also be booked on short notice by calling +49 1573 879 5555 (also via WhatsApp).

We will be happy to guide you around the festival grounds and provide you with helpful information for better orientation.

The INKLUTHEK is Pop-Kultur’s barrier-free mediatheque.
Here you will find lots of cool digital contributions with audio descriptions, German Sign Language and subtitles.

Deaf Performance

At Pop-Kultur you can also experience Deaf Performance, i.e. artistic contributions in German Sign Language.

Last year, the deaf artist Mila Hergert is a guest with her performance “Schnauze voll!”

A selection of our talk programme is accompanied by German Sign Language interpreters.

There are also mobile German Sign Language interpreters on the premises.
