BRKN
A lush soundscape, emotional lyrics about break-ups and toxic masculinity, letting those tears flow: On his latest and most successful LP »Drama«, BRKN has perfected his style, the outcome is a powerful concept album that goes beyond rap. Now the Kreuzberg native, who grew up in a Turkish-Armenian-Kurdish household, wants to settle down, as the bills have been paid, his self-confidence is back and he’s no longer ignoring his own psychological welfare. On his current EP, »Rahat« (Turkish for »comfort«), he picks up where »Drama« left off: autobiographical bars on life, self-perception and the end of another relationship. Sound-wise, the musician – who took piano and saxophone lessons as a child – has taken a more varied approach than ever before. Rap for mental health!
