Young, white woman with long, wavy black hair in a black, tight, sleeveless dress is seen from the side and stands leaning back in a model pose. She is looking into the camera, which is photographing her from below. In the background, blue sky with cirrus clouds. C'est Karma poses with her right arm casually above her head, her left hand leaning against her back, thus bringing her upper arm into focus, on which she has a simple chair tattooed.

C’est Karma

We are constantly online, world events are always just a swipe away, dance videos follow war footage on TikTok, all selected by the algorithm. What remains is anger and frustration. But also, the demand for social participation and a battle cry against the status quo. The Luxembourgian musician C’est Karma expresses all of this in her songs, combining her love for punk bands like NOFX and Jawbreaker, which she listened to in her early teens, with hyper-pop à la SOPHIE, Charli XCX and A. G. Cook, a genre that’s a major influence on her nowadays. And so C’est Karma delivers the unofficial soundtrack of her Generation Z – avant-garde, electro-folk-pop songs that addresses the status of women in society, sexual assault and even her own family history.
