Five people in different golden, knee to ankle length dresses and golden shoes, standing side by side and posing towards the camera in a dynamic and exalted manner. The person on the far left and the second from the right are wearing white bob wigs, the other three have on golden cone-shaped headdresses tapering well above the head with expansive fabric that hugs the face and falls over their torso. All five members of Drag Syndrome wear eye-catching make-up, especially the eye shadow, which is a different colour on each of them.

Drag Syndrome

Drag Syndrome is the world’s first and unique collective featuring drag queens and kings with Down syndrome. Since forming in London in 2018, the group has wowed millions of people from Canada to Mexico, Spain to Finland, and in Norway, emotional fans even mobbed the stage at the end of the show. That’s because Drag Syndrome are known for their captivating, joyous and innovative take on drag and performance art. Each Drag Syndrome artist has developed their own distinctive style. With their androgynous, »genderfuck« styling and DIY outfits, their approach is inspired by avant-garde performance art, seeing drag as inherently political, as a rebellion against society. Drag Syndrome will demonstrate their pioneering role in the world with their live show at Pop-Kultur, where hopefully the stage will still be standing.
