»Kritische Männlichkeiten: Wie viel Platz bietet der Pop für reflektierte Männer?« – Talk von Deutschlandfunk Kultur (De)

Charlotte Brandi, Fikri Anıl Altıntaş, Frank Spilker, hosts: Christoph Reimann & Juliane Reil

At least on the surface, something is developing in pop music: more and more women are being heard, appearing on stages, enriching the dialogue. But if something is really to change, then men, with all the ambiguities of the term, must also rethink their role – and not just because of recent accusations against a certain big German rock band. But those who don’t want to rely on patriarchy are entering new terrain, as pop culture doesn’t have so many male musicians ready to serve as role models. Which other men in pop make them feel understood? What potential for liberation does a feminist society offer men? And how can men in pop support their fellow women?

Fikri Anıl Altıntaş is a freelance author whose topics include masculinities and role models. Charlotte Brandi recorded her album »An den Alptraum« without cis men for a reason. And Frank Spilker has seen pop scenes come and go and has made music history himself with the band Die Sterne. The talk will be hosted by Juliane Reil and Christoph Reimann
