»Asian Berlin Pussy Power« is what Neukölln’s Nashi44 purveys, providing empowering rhymes with a fierce, feminist edge. Her first single »Aus der Pussy« (»From the Pussy«) gave a universal answer to the question, »Where are you from?« – raising awareness of anti-Asian racism in the form of a vibey club banger. Since then, the self-assured newcomer has enriched the German rap scene with an unusual mix of skills, a strong political awareness and humorously scathing punchlines. On her debut EP »Asia Box«, she combines two topics of fundamental significance to her: cultural appropriation and misogynistic men. In doing so, Nashi44 demonstrates with aplomb that serious topics and danceable sounds can work well in tandem.
