Things moved quickly for pape: Two months after Tif and Lea met while studying musicology in Frankfurt am Main in 2018, their first single »Lost« was already in the can. It became a streaming hit, and later that year, pape opened for Nura, and more recently, the duo were booked to support Ebow. According to the earliest reviews, they fill the audience’s bellies with booming bass – with the help of in-house producers YP and Melo M, who form a kind of »base« for the two of them, not only in their beats but also in their personal lives. The meanwhile Offenbach-based rap project draws inspiration from Deutschrap greats like SXTN while also managing to incorporate pop moments à la Taylor Swift and Alli Neumann in full-fledged songs. With cute rhymes, rapid-paced flows and playful melodies, Lea and Tif transform their words into a feeling that gets everyone moving. Both in the heart and in the hips.
