Portrait XO: »Tension«

With Portrait XO, the term electronic music takes on a whole new meaning. Inspired by new technologies such as AI, AR, VR or XR, the multimodal artist explores the creativity of computers. But Portrait XO’s art goes far beyond music: the native Californian is creative director and curator and explores new formats and applications for future-oriented art and music in various collaborations and initiatives. Neil Mendoza is an artist working at the intersection of multiple areas of media art and sound from AI and computer graphics to music and kinetic art. His work has been shown at museums and galleries around the world.
Together, Portrait XO and Neil Mendoza collaborate to compose a new audiovisual journey that explores the tension between human-machine co-creation. Creating an immersive environment in which the sonic elements generated by machine intelligence and those generated by more traditional tools are visually brought to life. This combination of art, technology and human interaction showcases what the future of music production feels, sounds and looks like. Their performance will be premiering at Pop-Kultur.
