Young woman with black, chin-length curly hair stands between the walls of a building in ruins, in front of her some red and white tape. Rasha Nahas looks into the camera, leans against the wall of the house with one arm and rests the other on her hip. She wears a white tracksuit, white pearl necklaces and a brown lined suede coat with fake fur appliqués on the collar and sleeves. Her lips are darkly made up, she wears a nostril ring.

Rasha Nahas

As a genre-bending, storytelling artist, Rasha Nahas has created a unique musical universe cultivated in the underground, remaining true to it to this day. The Berlin-based Palestinian singer from Haifa, composer and instrumentalist has found a distinctive approach to songwriting and performance. Carried by candid lyrics with disarming vulnerability, Rasha tells personal stories with a sound that moves effortlessly from echoes of the singer-songwriter era of old school rock ‘n’ roll to the anarchic heyday of eighties electronic music. Rasha’s critically acclaimed debut album »Desert« describes her journey from Haifa to Berlin. On her current album »Amrat«, which she will present at Pop-Kultur, Rasha also sings in Arabic for the first time.
