Young, white woman stands with wide legs in or in front of the edge of a lake, her feet are not visible. Water stretches in the background, closed off by green-brown reeds. Rosa Anschütz has tied her brown hair into a plait, wears a loose, golden blouse and black shin-length, tight trousers. She lets her arms hang close to her body and looks confidently into the camera.

Rosa Anschütz

Rosa Anschütz’s work is about the desire to drift, to surrender to the moment and to the flow of life. Perhaps that’s because she found her musical awakening in techno clubs. Having previously immersed herself in Berlin’s post-punk and industrial avant-garde scene, she later went dancing at Berghain. Meanwhile, her tracks have been remixed by producers like Ellen Allien and Kobosil. The Berlin artist, songwriter, composer, vocalist and performer oscillates between singing and spoken word an echoing voice that floats gently through ethereal and hypnotic sonic atmospheres without ever losing depth. In her electronic music productions, she freely weaves in analogue instruments such as flute, trumpet and guitar. And so, in the end, her music also sounds like the will to resist the world, to not get pulled into its currents.
