The five members of the band Sorry, a white blond woman and four white brown-haired men, stand in the lower part of the picture behind parts of marble statues, behind them are two large wings of marble on columns, on which the picture focuses. Only the heads and partial torsos of the band are visible, three of them are looking at the camera, the men on the left and right are looking in other directions. All are wearing casual clothes. In the background, an urban scene with blue sky, stretched power cable, trees, fence and walls can be glimpsed.

Sorry

It’s clear from their output that London band Sorry have grown up in the age of YouTube and music streaming services. After all, in these infinite expanses of listening, genres such as rock, hip-hop, noise, electronic soundscapes, grime and folk exist side by side without much confusion. And 20-somethings Asha Lorenz and Louis O’Bryen cheerfully use these influences to create extraordinary, lo-fi, indie-rock songs. Already as teenagers in 2015, they made a name for themselves in the London underground scene, and in the meantime they’ve released their second album »Anywhere But Here«, reflecting on the experiences of a young and frustrated generation living in the big city. Eavesdropped conversations, text messages, snippets of speech recorded on the tube – discarded words found in the metropolis have been incorporated into the lyrics. At Pop-Kultur, they will show what YouTube videos can only hint at: how captivating they are live!
